Every Sunday, someone walks through our doors for the very first time. Some are curious. Some are hurting. Some are just hoping to feel seen. The Welcome + Hospitality team gets to be the first picture of God’s love they encounter.
What We Do
Our team creates an atmosphere where outsiders feel like family. Together we:
Welcome Sunday morning guests
Guide people to their seats
Serve coffee with a smile
Cook and serve meals for church events and grieving families at funerals
Answer questions at the Next Steps desk
Host Discover FBCLS and New Member Lunches
Provide flowers and décor that make our spaces warm and inviting
Why It Matters
We believe it’s always someone’s one day. The day they might take a first step toward Jesus. That’s why even the smallest act of hospitality — a smile, a handshake, a kind word — can change a life.
Volunteer Screening Process
At FBCLS, we care deeply about creating a safe, welcoming environment for everyone—from our youngest preschoolers to our oldest members. Since volunteers in many of our ministries serve alongside minors or other vulnerable people, all volunteers complete a background check through Checkr.com before joining a team. After you apply, you’ll receive an email with next steps for that process. Once cleared, a ministry leader will reach out to invite you to a volunteer orientation.
